COACH ROLAND GOLF

Hello, my name is Roland.

 

I've been Golfing since I was 10 and am basically self taught, starting out with a little instruction from my father who worked at a golf shop. My low round is a 66 on a par 71.  I've had several rounds under par on some tough courses!

 

I've dug my swing out of the dirt, hitting bucket after bucket for years and I wish I'd had someone like me to coach myself back then. I would have saved myself a lot of time and experimentation.

 

I took quite a bit of time off from golf through high school and didn't start back up again until 1991. My goal then was to try and make what was called the Senior Tour which is now called the Champions.  I wanted to Monday quality for an event, but just didn't quite make it. To play at that level you have to be what I call stupid good-- having an insane putt and shortgame. I did well, just not well enough.

 

So I'm what I like to call the "regular guys coach".  I didn't play in high school or college, I wasn't on a minitour etc.. etc..  I learned like you're trying to learn now.  I know how to do it and I know how to teach it.  I don't throw any roses at you. I tell it like it is and what you need to do.  I'm not mean, just matter of fact.Give me a try and see what you think.  I'll bet you've never had a golf lesson like you will with me.  It's not all about standing on the range and hitting balls-- I teach you how to play the game.
